Introduction
Week 1……Net 11
- WOW!! It has been such an exciting week for me,starting a new chapter in life and learning. I have learnt quite alot already even though it has been a rather basic first week of study. Our task this week was to go to namechk.com and create a username that was available on *delicious, *twitter, *blogger, *wordpress, *photopucket, *flickr, *linkedin and *friendfeed. Fortunately for me my twitter username jowhite73 was available on the sites required and several other sites as well. I also decided to play around with a few variations of my username and my actual name and discovered that my actual name must be rare or the spelling of it is at least as it was available on every site. No wonder I have to spell my name wherever I go!
- After visiting the discussion board and reading ahead in the module i decided i needed to google several words that i was not clear on,words like blog and node. I had a vague idea of what they meant but glad i looked them up to be certain.
- I have spent a fair amount of time in the discussion board and i find them very useful and informative. I have enjoyed reading about what others are up to in their studies and how they are approaching them and get great results when i have asked a question. The discussion board is a great place to feel like part of an actual class rather than a virtual one.
- Ive also had fun creating this blog page too and playing around with the themes and styles and although i have not quite mastered it i seem to be making progress. I cant wait to get started on next weeks studies.
